The Tylecodons are especially nice. The plants offered here are among the tiniest succulents. Stem cuttings will slowly cluster and will make beautiful miniature bonsai. Most growth occurs from winter thru early summer. It can be grown in the ground in rock gardens in frost-free areas, but pots are best due to its small size. This winter the rains have been great for our plants. The plants are plumped up, colorful, and healthy. The Tylecodons are especially nice. The plants offered are very succulent and free flowering. Most Tylecodons have cylindrical leaves, some have spherical leaves, and some have wider leaves. This species has spatulate leaves. The final photo above shows some yard plants after a long winter rainfall. In the dry season, when they get hot bright weather, the leaves get colorful before they drop off for the dormant season. It can be grown in the ground in rock gardens in frost-free areas, but pots are best due to its small size. Although I do grow it in the ground under Cycads, as they do not mind the shade. They are very inconspicuous plants when not in flower, so I find lost cuttings around the yard. Tylecodon striatus is a brownish colored flowered plant that clusters freely.
