250+ Garlic Chive Seeds – MICHIGAN, USA GROWN! Organic, Heirloom, and non-GMO!

250 Organic, non-GMO Garlic Chive Seeds – Michigan Grown! This is an AWESOME STIR FRY VEGETABLE with taste more like garlic than chives, perfect for FALL or SPRING planting. A truly low-maintenance herb, which I happen to love because I’m a lazy gardener 😉 These fresh seeds were harvested by hand from mature plants in the 2022 season in southeast Michigan (Lenawee County, USDA Zone 6a). You will be delighted by their delicate and compact but exotic look, especially their showy flowers come late summer. For spring planting, you can start early indoors, or simply wait for soil temperatures to be above approximately 50 F / 10 C, and not too damp. For fall planting, you can sow when it’s not too hot anymore and when soil moisture is reasonably good. Please contact me for further growing questions. A word to the wise: As with many members of the Allium genus, including classic chives, keep an eye on them once they flower, and then either harvest or remove the seeds prior to them spreading out-of-control.

300GARLIC CHIVESEEDS Cultivating Garlic Chive: An In-Depth Guide Garlic chive, also known as Chinese chives or Allium tuberosum, is a popular herb that is widely cultivated for its distinct garlic-like flavor. It belongs to the same family as the onion, leek, and garlic, and is native to Asia. With its easy cultivation process and numerous health benefits, growing garlic chives in your garden can be a rewarding and flavorful experience. In this guide, we will take you through step by step instructions on how to cultivate garlic chives successfully, along with a delicious recipe and health benefits of this versatile herb. Step 1: Selecting the Right Location Garlic chives thrive in well-drained soil that receives plenty of sunlight. Choose a sunny spot in your garden or a large pot if you are planning to grow them indoors. Be sure to provide sufficient space between plants as they can spread rapidly. Step 2: Preparing the Soil Prepare the soil by removing any debris and weeds. Garlic chives prefer neutral to slightly acidic soil with a pH ranging from 6.0 to 7.0. Incorporate organic matter such as compost or well-rotted manure to improve the soil’s fertility and drainage. Step 3: Planting Garlic Chive Seeds Sow the garlic chive seeds directly into the prepared soil, about ¼ inch deep and 1 inch apart. Space rows about 12 inches apart if you are growing multiple rows. Gently water the soil to keep it moist until the seeds germinate, which usually takes around 10 to 14 days. Step 4: Watering and Maintenance Garlic chives require regular watering to keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Avoid overwatering, as it can lead to root rot. Keep an eye out for weeds and remove them regularly to prevent competition for nutrients and space. If you notice any yellowing or wilting leaves, trim them to encourage healthier growth. Step 5: Harvesting Garlic Chives Garlic chives can be harvested once the plants have reached a height of around 6 to 8 inches. Cut the leaves just above the soil level using a sharp pair of scissors or garden shears. This will encourage continuous growth and multiple harvests throughout the season. It is best to harvest the leaves before the plant flowers, as flowering can make the leaves tough and bitter. Popular Recipe: Garlic Chive Pancakes Garlic chive pancakes are a delicious and popular way to enjoy the unique flavor of garlic chives. Here’s a simple recipe to try: Ingredients: – 1 cup all-purpose flour – 1/2 cup water – 1/2 teaspoon salt – 1 cup chopped garlic chives – 2 tablespoons vegetable oil Instructions: 1. In a large bowl, mix the flour, water, and salt until a smooth batter is formed. 2. Stir in the chopped garlic chives into the batter until well combined. 3. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a non-stick frying pan over medium heat. 4. Pour about 1/4 cup of the batter into the pan and spread it out evenly to form a pancake shape. 5. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the bottom turns golden brown, then flip and cook the other side for an additional 2-3 minutes. 6. Repeat the process with the remaining batter, adding more oil to the pan as needed. 7. Once all the pancakes are cooked, serve them hot with a dipping sauce of your choice. They are delicious with soy sauce or a mixture of soy sauce, rice vinegar, and a dash of sesame oil. Health Benefits of Garlic Chive: Garlic chives offer numerous health benefits due to their rich nutritional profile. Here are some of the key benefits: 1.
